The Bulk Mail Center (BMC) network, established 54 years ago following the Postal Reorganization Act of 1970, has long been a cornerstone of the postal system. Since the early 1990s, mailers have been dropshipping into these centers, now known as Network Distribution Centers (NDCs). This July will mark the end of an era as these changes come to fruition. Back to Site Speaker Ava Savosh (Yurchison) Sales Manager iHeartMedia Ava Savosh (Yurchison) is a Sales Manager focusing on digital marketing for iHeart Media of the Hudson Valley. She has been with the organization since 2017 and has worked in several different roles. Her job functions include building custom marketing plans for business and organizations across the United States with a concentration in the tri-state area utilizing different audio, digital and social media tactics. She is a 2021 and 2022 iHeart Media President’s Award winner as well as a 2021 New York State Broadcasters Association Excellence in Broadcasting Award for Community Engagement Winner. Ava is a member of the New York State Broadcasting Association’s Futures Committee and the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce Hudson Valley Young Professionals as an Advisory Council Member, as well as a board member at Arts Mid-Hudson. Holding a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Mercy College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the State University of New York at New Paltz, Ava is an active member of the Hudson Valley community. She can be found hiking local trails, kayaking local waterways, or grabbing a bite to eat. She enjoys spending time with her shih tzu Barry or her cat Lebron. Her and her husband are massive sports fans – Go Yankees, Rangers and Vikings!

    The Laura L. Smith Scholarship In honor of Laura L. Smith, HVDMA presents awards each year to outstanding marketing students. With a history dating back to 2002, past scholarships have been awarded to ambitious students attending Mercy College, Fashion Institute of Technology, Fordham, SUNY New Paltz, and Pace University. Scholarship eligibility is open to students demonstrating academic excellence, enthusiasm, professionalism, and potential to add valuable contributions to the marketing industry. Direct Marketing program students and those studying closely related disciplines such as Digital Marketing, Brand/Product Marketing, Data Sciences, and more are encouraged to apply.
